Wheelhouse Overhaul

Wheel house on board a Wooden Sailing boat. Pillars at the base of wheel house were all cut out due to wood rot and replaced, pressed in place and glued using Epoxy.

After this was complete, Helm unit was cut out and assembled and fit on board. Helm Navigation panel area is lifted in photo here, but can be pushed down manually and locked down, flat in line with chart tables on either side. Stbd side chart table when opened will have access to a custom built stainless steel fridge (Top Loading with external compressor incorporating digital thermostat) and on Port side 3 compartments with flap doors for storage were created. Inside bottom compartment an air conditioning unit will be fitted, and helm unit has air vents on top to air condition the wheel house and also de-mist wind shield glass if needed. The middle panel is also removable to access main electrical distribution for the whole boat.

This project is not complete as yet!
